Women supporting women

Let’s talk about this whole “women support women, not tear each other down” concept that a lot of girl boss cheerleaders like to rah rah about.

Just so we’re clear: some of the most guilty parties of engaging in and upholding patriarchy and misogyny are women themselves. 

But I am talking about women who are activists, feminists, influencers , business minded and women with talent in other words women who are boss ladies and women who fight for their rights , dignity and for other women who can’t raise voices for themselves . We have women in parliament also, women fighting again all odds soo we can succeed as a generation, women who ain’t afraid to voice up and say their piece of mind.

Women who were made with solidarity, women who don’t make other’s feel less because of their status and how other’s view them such as Amanda Nomnqaa

Though there certain women who are not in support of other women, women who have engaged themselves in certain thing’s that has made us as women even feel ashamed of. Here I am talking about women who abuse other women, women who abuse men , rape kid’s, slut-shame , bodyshame and all sorts of stuff a women shouldn’t be uphold on .

Women and Men are unique, and have their own distinctiveness. It is an honour in a special way that there is a  month and a day that was set to be a day to celebrate women and their varied efforts.

Celebrating women 

There is a particular month that we celebrate women but not every woman should be celebrated, there is a reason why women are celebrated that should mean something to you. History is full of women who aided and abetted racists, misogynists, homophobes, etc.

Women are just as capable of engaging in toxic behavior and spreading toxic ideas as men.

We need to be able to have constructive critical conversations among ourselves about what benefits us as a group and what does not.

Don’t confuse manufactured jealousy with with intellectual discourse.

In other cases we have seen women competing instead of collaborating, this must not be!

Anyone trying to hide behind “women doesn’t tear each other down,” especially if and when the ideas they are perpetuating are mired in patriarchy, transphobia, or racism, is just perpetuating existing systems of oppression rather than helping to tear them down.

Many women are still engulfed in patriarchal ideology. Some of them have tried to label it feminism.

In our generation, we choose to always be different women, women full of love, care and support. Let's choose to be known by love.

To all women reading this, remember to always be happy, learn to talk things out and not just keep saying you are strong yet you are hurting . Don't waste time gossiping about other women rather let's unite and push each other up and higher. Choose to celebrate with others when they are excelling well instead if bringing each other’s down.
